It’s true, we’ve been lazy when it comes to making an announcement between contributors, when the dust has finally settled, photographs are posted and the head is shipped off to the next person. We still don’t yet have a system for this process. When do we update? Do we write commentary on each contributor? We’re working on it.
But the truth is, a lot of great stuff has been added by some really amazing contributors and we want to make sure it doesn’t get missed. Surprisingly, while putting this update together, we realized something… the last five contributors have all been female!

Using our heads
Do you have any thoughts on the project? Any ideas to make it better? Anything that’s wrong with it now that should be fixed? Any website/usability issues? Leave us a comment or send us an email. We’d love to hear from you.
We just wanted to let everyone know that it’s that time again… the time for waiting. We’re waiting for heads to move. We’ve had some great contributions to the project in the last month which we will begin to highlight over the next few days but for now, take a look at the Contributors for the most recent.
You may also have noticed that we’ve gone ahead and added HEAD 005. We’ve been getting a lot of applications that we haven’t been able to respond to because of a limited number of heads so to open things up a bit more, we decided now would be a good time to add another HEAD. We’re waiting on payday before we can mail it out to our first contributor for 005, Wesley Brown in Los Angeles, CA.

We’re not sure who this guy is but he’s put together one photo for every year of his life from 1967 – 2006. We’re not sure why he stopped in 2006 but no matter, he will live on here, forever in our hearts…

Head Project Info Cards
Yet another idea we had. What are they? Just what they look like… Head Project business cards. What are they for? For EVERYTHING of course!!
Have you ever taken a head out in public? Trust us, you’re going to get a lot of strange looks. Simply respond by slapping one of these cards into their hands. Not only are we making CONTRIBUTOR cards, specifically designed for project contributors, we’re making cards for every occassion.
There are still a few more things to work out but they’re almost ready.

Meira: Saved at sea
Okay we’re lying. Head 001 was never lost at sea. We did however discover that while in Sardinia, Italy with Laura Manchinu, 001 was in fact involved an unauthorized trip to the beach in the hands of one Francesca Corriga, a friend of Laura Manchinu.
In reality, we’re quite happy to see that The Head Project has touched the lives of more than just the contributors of the project and that folks are getting involved!
Head (1968)
How did we miss this? The Monkees made a movie titled Head in 1968? And it just so happens this movie was co-written by Jack Nicholson? AMAZING. We’ll need to rent this. But for now, we can at least share with you the original commercial trailer for the film.
