With nearly 40 contributors and over six years of Head Project, we’ve seen a lot of interesting things. Our heads have inspired nudity, attended weddings, been pregnant, interviewed on foreign television, kissed numerous times, scanned by a 3D scanner, smuggled into the office of a foreign public official, sacrificed by troll dolls and arrested … and that’s just to name a few!

In the process we’ve noticed both a number of firsts as well as a number of ongoing themes and in an effort to recognize those contributors who truly were the very first to do something and to inspire future contributors to push their creative boundaries and think outside the box, we’ve created the HEAD FIRST AWARDS!

So where do the firsts come from you ask? A contributor can receive a Head First Award for just about anything so long as we feel it’s worthy of being recognized. This means anything from being the first contributor from a specific country, the first photo of a head next to a cow or the first head in outer space. Early on there will be a LOT of firsts but as the project continues to gain momentum the chances of getting a Head First Award will become more difficult and ultimately require greater creativity on the part of the contributor.

So next time you’re browsing our evergrowing list of amazing contributors, you may discover a few of them have received a “HEAD FIRST AWARD.” Show some respect and take your shoes off at the door. And if you’re ever lucky enough to be in the company of a HEAD FIRST WINNER, the least you can do is offer to buy ‘em a drink… because you are in the presence of a winner.
